Marta and Greg are such an awesome couple. We had the pleasure of shooting their engagement photos at fish creek provincial park a few months ago and in January we were honoured to shoot their wonderful winter wedding. Some might say its risky to plan a wedding in January in Calgary. For all you know, it could end up being the coldest day of the year… or by some stroke of divine mercy it could be 12 degrees C and sunny. It was pretty unbelievable but it seems luck was on their side and a welcome Chinook wind rolled in just in time for the festivities!
Given that the ceremony was a little later in the day, we did a photo shoot in a park before heading over to the church. Its always nice to do this because we got to sneak in a series of first look photos!
Next, surrounded by their closest friends and family, Marta and Greg exchanged vows at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. It was a beautiful ceremony and their love just beamed through their smiles and laughs. After the ceremony, it was time to relax with some drinks and photos!
We headed over to Cibo on 17th ave for a quick drink and some unexpected Polish dancing on the patio and then it was time for the real party!
The Lake House on Bonavista is stunning! It is equal parts cottage-y and glamorous with the fireplace finishing off the already cozy décor. The party was exceptional, the food was delicious, and the speeches were hilarious! All in all, being surrounded by so many wonderful people made our job really easy. We had so much fun and were so blessed to have been included in Marta and Greg’s beautiful wedding day.
Cheers to you guys, wishing you all the happiness in the world as you embark on this new chapter of your lives together!
