Serving Hamilton and the Toronto GTA areas, Calgary and Montreal. With every one of our photo sessions, our goal is to leave our clients speechless as they look through a story of photos of themselves and their loved ones in a way they have never seen before.
Being able to share our talents with the wonderful people we work with is an unbelievable gift that we are forever grateful for and is what inspires us to push ourselves every day in our work and in our lives.
Robert is a photographer with over a decade of experience. His passion stems from the technical side of photography, having first learned all about what it takes to create a photograph and then putting that knowledge to work. Lenses, sensors, histograms, apertures and shutter speeds – Yes, these words excite Robert (not ISOs though – that’s just a bunch of noise). There are endless ways to take any one photo and Robert’s photos are his translation of the energy and light he feels in the world around him.
Starting out in Montreal, Gosia has been shooting for over nine years. Gosia learned photography with a close-knit group of friends and avid photographers. Sneaking into restricted areas in the middle of the night they captured unique nighttime portraits overlooking the Montreal skyline and experimented with off-camera flashes, flashlights and whatever other tools and props they needed to get the shot. Gosia’s vibrant energy has a way of bringing out the best in people, and it shows in her photos.
We are Robert & Gosia Albertin (that’s right, the Albertins from Alberta, haha). Robert grew up in Calgary and Gosia grew up in Oakville and then went on to complete her undergrad studies in Montreal. Gosia would also argue that Rob still hasn’t really grown up.
We met in 2004 while traveling to Poland as part of a polish scouting jamboree, in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Warsaw uprising from World War II. Rob – I’d like to think this is where our relationship began, however after reading back through our brief history of online conversations, it was achingly clear that there was absolutely no chemistry between us then.
Fast forward six years when Robert happened to be visiting Montreal for a funeral. Gosia was in her last year of studies at McGill completing her Bachelor of Sciences. Being the only person Rob knew that lived in that beautiful city, he got in touch with Gosia to re-connect over a drink. After an entire evening chatting about Rob’s geeky lens collection and Gosia’s cool urban street photography it became clear that there was more than just a mutual love for photography keeping the conversation flowing.
We met up the following morning over a coffee and with Rob’s return flight just a few hours away, we took one last photo together and decided to simply stay in touch. We stayed in touch virtually every day for a year through either phone calls, texts or emails. We would also make sure to get to see each other by alternating visits each month, one month Rob would fly to Montreal and the next Gosia would fly to Calgary for a brief but necessary visit.
As luck would have it, exactly 1 year to the day of our re-connecting, Rob packed up his belongings in his car and a U-Haul and drove down to Montreal in time for a job fair. Two and a half years later, in June 2013 we got married. We then packed up all our belongings one more time and moved back to Calgary where we’ve been together ever since.
Rob – Gosia is a beautiful person, both inside and out. Her energy radiates within any room she enters and her strong character means she accomplishes anything she puts her mind to, sometimes over-extending herself but always with the best intentions. She holds her family and friends (new & old) close to her heart, always trying to schedule in time for the next person that she hasn’t seen in forever. These people are the ones that have helped shape her into the woman she is today and I know that she is extremely grateful for having such a long list.
Gosia – Robert is one of the most caring and considerate people I have ever met. He cares deeply about anything he sets out to do and commits himself 100% to any task he takes on. This is one of the things that makes him so successful as a wedding photographer. He goes above and beyond in making sure that the couples we work with are comfortable, confident and happy with the work that we do. He also sees things that other people just don’t see and has an uncanny ability to realize those visions.
